Thank you for donating to GB Fortnight! =D

We've been looking forward to meeting the girls all week, and it's wonderful to see them all bright and cheery in the morning!

Our senior girls are steadily improving in their creative drill. As the Drill Competition date nears, we are getting more and more excited for them! Seniors, stay focused and practice hard, and you'll savour the sweet fruits of your labour... Meanwhile, our young ones are also making good progress in their basic drill commands... Keep it up! =D

Today, we went through the parable of The Prodigal Son, where we learnt about the story of our father's love. Even though the son went out and spent all the father's money, the father was still extremely glad to have his son back and even threw a huge feast to celebrate his return! It really reminds us of God's love, and that He is always loving and merciful.

Craftwork was very exciting and meaningful too, as it was time to show our thanks to all the uncles & aunties who have donated so generously to support our GB Fortnight last year. We made cards for them and we're going to send them out!

Charmaine came up with the game of the day! Together with a couple of other girls, they taught the rest of us how to play "Octopus", and we had great fun!!!

See you girls on 7 Mar! Please remember that we do not have parade next week, study hard for your CA! We'll be praying for you!

WE LOVE GB!!!

14 Feb 09 Parade

We had a massive turnout this Saturday with a total strength of 37 girls! Well done girls for your good attendance.

This morning, we started off with an opening parade. Following that, the girls commenced with their drill sessions. The senior drill team practiced their creative drill while the new girls learnt new drill commands and basic drill movements.

Next,Mdm Juliet led the combined devotion on the Parable of the Seeds and the Soil. Through the devotion, the boys and girls learnt that seeds can fall on different places, like paths, rocks, thorns or soil. The key message of the devotion is that only the seeds that fall onto good soil will produce fruitful crops. Thus, we hope that we will all be like seeds that fall onto good soil.

After the devotion, the drill team continued with the preparation for their drill competition. Keep up with the good effort and all the best for your competition, girls!

Can you tell what formation is this?

In another classroom, some of our senior and new girls enjoyed a craftwork session. The craftwork reinforces the message of the devotion on the Parables of the Seeds and Good Soil.

The final products!

The creative handicraft made by the girls. Can you tell which is made by whom?

Lastly, we ended our beautiful Saturday morning with the GB vesper.See you girls this coming Saturday!:)

7 Feb Parade

We thank God for the great turnout at last Saturday's parade! Our new recruits look so smart in their brand new uniforms!

The senior girls were hard at work, training for the Creative Drill Competition in March. It is so encouraging to see them so committed and giving their best to the team. 12 girls will be selected eventually, based on their performance and committment. A big thank you to our volunteer drill instructors who are so patient with the girls!
We also kicked off a series of devotions on the Parables of Jesus. Full attendence for this series will earn each girl the first badge of the year - God's Book. Last week we learnt from Matthew 13: 44-46 that the kingdom of heaven is like a hidden treasure. It is very valuable and worth seeking. While the senior girls practised their Creative Drill, our recruits had an enjoyable time looking for hidden pictures in a Magic Eye picture and worked at decoding a hidden message. We wrapped up our meeting with the girls' favourite game - SARDINES!
All eight of our P5 girls (Bin Xin, Xuan Ning, Maple, Grace, Mindy, Si Ying, Ru-En and Yi Xinn) have been selected for the Junior Leadership Training Camp on Mar 14 - 15. The camp seeks to groom our girls to be leaders through experential learning and to help build their character and resilience. We look forward to them successfullly fulfilling all the requirements and become Junior Leaders!
See you all at the next parade on 14 February! An early Happy Valentine's Day to all!
