Fast Food & Fuzz (Sep 18-19)

Overview
This camp aims to help girls learn how not to take things for granted and to appreciate what they have. They will learn to live simply and they will be fasting from the usual comforts and indulgences they use to enjoy.

Date: Sep 18-19
Time: Sep 18 (report directly at GBHQ @ 9am), Sep 19 (dismissal from GBHQ @ 2.30pm)
Venue: Girls' Brigade Headquarters
Transport: Own


Notes:
1) Please ensure that your girl has her breakfast before reporting on 18th Sep.
2) Reporting attire: GB Polo T-shirt and skirt (or track pants).
3) This is a National Camp and girls from other schools are involved.

Things to bring:
1. bible (if they have)
2. water bottle
3. stationery (pen, pencil, scissors, glue, colour pencils, crayon)
4. Empty 600ml Mineral water bottle, buttons, stickers, coloured paper for craft work
5. toiletries: towel, soap/bath gel, toothbrush and toothpaste
6. one set of clothes (t-shirt, shorts, underwear)
7. insect repellent if needed
8. thin bed sheet
9. wide bowl to eat porridge, fork and spoon (No disposables allowed)
10. slipper/sandals for bathing (optional)


Things not to bring:

1. Mobile phones, jewelry
2. Tidbits, food
3. Sleeping bag

Overseas Camp!!

Dear girls, we hope you are looking forward to the overseas camp!

If you have yet to get your consent form, please get it from Mdm Faith's table (no 7) asap. All consent forms should be in by wednesday (Aug 18) as there is no school on thurs & fri and we do not have parade this sat (Aug 21).



DAY 1
Assemble at School (0800)
- Take attendance and travel document admin
- Depart for Eco Camp
- Arrive at Eco Camp/ Safety Briefing
- Setting up canvas bed demo (campers set up own canvas beds)
- Lunch
- Asli Animal Traps demonstration
- Swampforest Walk with nature guide
(Learn about the ecology of the forest, nature appreciation and jungle survival skills)
- Wash up
- Dinner
- River Cruise @ Night ~ Fireflies Watching

DAY 2
- Breakfast
- Depart Mawai for Gunung Arong
- Set off for Gunung Arong (300m)
- Lunch at summit (Packed lunch prepared from campsite)
- Back at base point (nearby village)
- Assemble and depart for Eco Camp
- Back at Eco Camp
- Wash up
- Dinner
- Campfire and sing-a-long

DAY 3
- Breakfast
- Asli Water Obstacle (9 different ways of crossing water, have fun getting wet)
- Wash up/ Pack up
- Lunch
- Depart Eco Camp for Singapore
- Arrive at Singapore (subjected to traffic congestion at customs during this period)

National Day Parade Contingent this friday

Dear girls,

We'll be forming a contingent for National Day parade this friday together with the other 3 uniform groups. =)

Do come neatly dressed in your full uniforms!

We'll meet at the meeting point at 7am. Please be punctual!

Junior Leaders who attended the JLTC will also be receiving their certificates in front of the whole school!

Camp Mawai Camp Presentation!

Dear girls,

We are going to Camp Mawai at the end of the year! =)

Camps in the past years have been really fun and you can ask any girl who has attended in the past - they will give both thumbs up!

I really hope most of you will be able to join us on the camp this year. In order to let you and your parents find out a bit more about the camp this time round, we have specially invited the camp organisers to give a short presentation on what the camp would be like.

Please invite your parents to join us, (book them early in case they have other appointments) so that they will also be excited to join us!
