GB Fortnight

What does GB Fortnight mean?

Just this week, one of the younger girls asked a senior girl, "Why didn't we have camp T-shirts at our recent camp?" The senior girl's reply went like this: "Our batch put in a lot of effort in previous years to raise the funds for that." Strangely that got the younger girl quietly motivated as if a huge sense of responsibility had just kicked in.

GB Fortnight is from 12-26 July this year. For some of the girls, it's the opportunity to put on their brightest smile and seek out generous donations from teachers, friends and relatives. For other girls, they secretly check out who has got the most cards filled!

The real deal of GB Fortnight isn't about a camp T-shirt. Rather it is about integrity, responsibility and ownership - fundamental values that we desire to instill in each precious child entrusted to us.

This exercise is also an act of faith. Faith to know that what we collect will be sufficient for our yearly camps, company outings, community work and leadership programs. The aim of our activities is to train the girls to be leaders, leaders of themselves and leaders of others.

Thank you in advance for your generosity through your continued prayer, support and financial giving, "because the service of this ministry is not only providing for the needs of the saints but is also overflowing with many thanks to God."(2 Cor 9:12)
